Wondering How To Recycle Tyres? Choose Enviro-tyres

End of Life Tyres (ELT) are a huge problem. There are over a billion globally and here in New Zealand about 5 million annually! Tyres have a complex makeup of rubber, various metals and synthetic petro-chemical components. They are bulky with a large cavity. If landfilled, over time they leach poisonous elements into our soil.

We at Enviro-tyres want to be part of the solution. A big part of the solution for ELT is effective and responsible collection. This is where we come in. We partner with NDL Transport who collect your tyres and guarantee every tyre is responsibly disposed of.

How to recycle tyres and other FAQs

How are the tyres disposed of?
We currently have two main disposal methods;  export for deconstruction &  shredding for use at Golden Bay Cement.

Why export some tyres?
We currently don’t have the volume to justify shredding them all in Tauranga.

Why shred the tyres?
There are two reasons; they are more compact for transport and this is the first step in recycling.

What is Enviro-tyres goal?
To increase the volume of collection to 100% of all used tyres. The additional tyre volumes mean less landfill and greater opportunity for NZ Waste reduction.
